How To: Blend Tea

I've been itching to do this shoot since I attended Bon Appetit's Feast Portland (post on that here) and took master tea maker Steve Smith's (SmithTeamaker.com) tea blending class at Portland's Le Cordon Bleu. Steve is the creator of Stash Tea & a tea entrepreneur. The class I took taught by him & his wife was a blast full of beautiful loose leaf teas, dried flower petals & cracked barks. Doesn't it just sound beautiful? Below are what I've decided to call "tea diptych's"- a portrait of the person and their tea blend. When I was envisioning this shoot, I thought it would be really neat to view each person & their blend together. I can't say why I thought this, but if you'd like to let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear them! Along with the photographs are instructions on how to throw your own tea blending get-together.
