Cherry Bombe Launch Party at Book Larder, January 12th- Your invited!

Cherry Bombe Magazine is having a party!

A launch party of their new issue which I was so delighted to be able to photograph a story for. And it's right here in Seattle at my favorite bookstore in Ballard, devoted entirely to cookbooks! This book store is Book Larder. Not only do they have the most in the moment, forward thinking cookbooks, but they stock all your tried & true staples and host a variety of exciting classes and talks taught by local and national chefs, foodies & connoisseurs. In this small but tidy space the walls are lined floor to ceiling with books on food. Food stories, cookbooks, baking books, food of other regions, times and people. It's a magical spot to get lost for a few hours, flipping shiny pages and drooling at rich photographs.

As to the party, you're invited! The two ladies who run Cherry Bombe, Kerry Diamond & Claudia Wu, are flying out from New York to be interviewed by Sarah Billups of Seattle Eater for their food world know-all. Appetizers from Renee Erickson's new hit book "A Boat, A Whale and A Walrus" will be served alongside Sour Cherry Cider from Reverend Nat's Hard Cider. Tickets are available here.

These women are two of the most talented, hardworking and entrepreneurial people I have met. Both hail from the magazine industry of New York (Harper's Bazaar with stints at other big names), Kerry owns the popular Vietnamese Restaurant Nightingale 9 & Southern food charmer Wilma Jean in Brooklyn, while Claudia formerly ran the cult indie publication "Me Magazine," and acted as creative director and partner for New York Advertising Agencey Orphan designing for top names such as Hugo Boss, Harry Winston, Thakoon and Versace to name a few. Simply put these two women are the best at what they do and currently, that is Cherry Bombe Magazine.

I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Cherry Bombe to cover an exciting event hosted here in Bellevue by a company called Modernist Cuisine. If you haven't heard of them, where have you been? No really though they are a great company, started and run by Nathan Myhrvold, formerly Microsoft's Chief Strategist and Chief Technology Officer who retired early to pursue a life on invention and food, starting Modernist Cuisine. I will be posting another story on my Modernist Cuisine shoot and the Cherry Bombe Issue itself soon.

So come join us for a night of conversation, food and kick-ass ladies at Book Larder on January 12th. You'll be glad you did!

 See you there!
